Day 15 - Let's Talk About _____ Baby!

Some of you may or may not remember the Song "Let's Talk About Sex" by Salt N Pepa.

The chorus goes a little something like this:
Let's talk about sex, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let's talk about sex
Let's talk about sex
Let's talk about sex

Well instead I say:
Let's talk about health, baby
Let's talk about you and me
Let's talk about all the good things
And the bad things that may be
Let's talk about Preservatives

Let's talk about Isolates
Let's talk about Whole Foods

PRESERVATIVE: a chemical substance used to preserve foods or other organic materials from decomposition or fermentation.

According to an article in Chemical and Engineering News:

..."Chemical preservatives like sulfur dioxide help keep food fresh. Of the 32 ingredients in my favorite type of granola bar (oatmeal raisin), one is labeled as a preservative, although a few other ingredients also inhibit decay. Some grocery items have no preservatives at all--in particular those that are sufficiently preserved by freezing, drying, smoking, pickling, canning, or some other means. Chemical preservatives can't replace more stringent preservation methods, such as commercial sterilization, which destroys most enzymatic and bacterial activity. But chemicals can be used effectively to slow spoiling and keep microorganisms at bay.
Preservatives can be categorized into three general types: antimicrobials that inhibit growth of bacteria, yeasts, or molds; antioxidants that slow air oxidation of fats and lipids, which leads to rancidity; and a third type that blocks the natural ripening and enzymatic processes that continue to occur in foodstuffs after harvest."...

In my opinion if we are putting chemicals in food to make it from going bad then we are putting those same chemicals in our bodies which aren't going to process through our bodies properly and are going to stay much longer causing long term effects.  Food wasn't meant to be preserved in this way.  It was meant to be fresh and feed our bodies.  Our bodies were built to process whole foods and not chemicals. Our bodies turn the foods into the proper chemicals it needs.  It shouldn't be the other way around.  We have it all backwards when we eat foods with preservatives.

Isolate:

1. To set apart or cut off from others.
2. To place in quarantine.
3. Chemistry To separate (a substance) in pure form from a combined mixture.
4. To render free of external influence; insulate.
5. Microbiology To separate (a pure strain) from a mixed bacterial or fungal culture.

Do you remember in school when they said the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.  And we all kind of went huh?  Well think of it this way whenever we take something away from the whole we are not getting the full benefit of the whole.  Extracted Vitamin C will never give us what a whole orange will.  So if you are eating soy protein or whey protein, whether organic or all natural, you are getting less benefit than if you were eating pure soy, pure protein, etc.  And you don't know how the soy or whey you are eating is being processed.  You don't know how they treat the water they use, how clean their facilities are, etc.  In addition our bodies were built to process and digest whole foods and not parts of whole foods.  Our bodies absorb less when it is an isolate.

WHOLE FOOD:  : a natural food and especially an unprocessed one (as a vegetable or fruit).  Feeding our bodies whole foods allows us to start Regeneration.  This means we are regening the body, we are recelling it.  This is what Sunrider products are about.  They are whole food herbs.  We are taking several whole foods and herbs (creating more benefit than just one food), blending them and concentrating them (and much more).  We are feeding the body!  We are allowing the body to heal itself.  Instead of allowing our bodies to be broken and then patched up with medicine we are regenerating.  If you don't believe me then come to one of my classes and here the testamonials.  If you have any aches or pains, want to lose weight or just have more energy then you need to hear more about what you can do for yourself.  (there will be more tomorrow on the eastern philosophy of doctors versus the western philosophy).

Weighed in at 195.4 today.  I am feeling a lot better and can feel my body working to balance itself out.  It is not always easy and I am getting better each day.  My headaches seem to be subsiding.  My clothes are feeling loser, so although it may not show on the scale, something is happening.  :o)

No product spotlight tonight....because there will be a big one tomorrow.
